  • AAR Japan conducts PWD awareness workshops for the communities to promote understanding on (1) disability, cause and risk, such as mal nutrition, lack of hygiene environment, landmine accident, and risk reduction; (2) barrier and barrier-free in the communities.
  • AAR Japan construct/renovate community infrastructure, such as village road, well, and latrines for persons with disabilities to improve living environment of the community and accessibilities to public places.
  • AAR Japan facilitates setting up of supporting system in villages with members of Village Development Committees (VDCs), persons with disabilities and their families, to widen understanding of the community on the situation of persons with disabilities, share experience, difficulties and information among community.
  • AAR Japan provides information on medical referral, assistive devices and other rehabilitation support for persons with disabilities and their families.
  • Communities including PWDs acquire knowledge on disability, hygiene environment, risk reduction and nutrition.
  • Mobility within the community is improved through construction of barrier-free facilities.
  • Equal access and stable supply of water will be ensured for the community including PWDs.
  • PWDs and their families have access to information related to support available for PWDs.  
  • PWDs receive relevant support to have better mobility and access to public services.
