21st International Meeting of National Mine Action Programme Directors and United Nations Advisers

The 21st International Meeting of National Mine Action Programme Directors and United Nations Advisers (NDM-UN) took place from 13 to 16 February 2018 at the Palais des Nations at the United Nations Office at Geneva. 

The Meeting’s theme was “Advancing protection, peace and development” and provided an opportunity for delegates to network and exchange best practice and lessons learnt in response to current trends in mine action.

Let’s Talk Business:
How the Mine Action Community is Partnering with Business and Philanthropy on the SDGs

Care International estimates that on average 70 people die or are seriously injured by mines and explosives every day, half of which are children who are often playing, collecting firewood and water, or conducting other essential chores.

During a recent UN Agency for Mine Action (UNMAS) global conference which took in February 2018 in Geneva, over 500 delegates explored links between mine action and the Sustainable Development Goals.
