UN peacekeeping policy, guidance and learning represents a body of knowledge that supports peacekeeping personnel in the implementation of their tasks. It provides direction and helps streamline work processes. All policies, guidance and learning materials are based on good practices and lessons from field operations and are regularly reviewed.
Over the years, the Secretariat has consistently improved the process and outcomes of the peacekeeping guidance system and continuously develops new guidance in response to emerging challenges and priorities. Efforts continue to be made to increase the uptake of guidance materials through sensitization, training and in-mission support.
